Prerana has imbibed through her Guru's teachings, nuances of both Lucknow and
Jaipur gharanas. Blessed with a very pleasing stage presence, Prerana with her
dedication, power of expression and penchant for maintaining the purity of Kathak,
carries a very high opinion of connoisseurs and masses alike.
Formally graduating with Mathematics as major, Prerana has done M.A. - Dance
from Pune University, in Kathak and stood first in the order of Merit. Her
dissertation work on 'Choreography in Kathak' is well acclaimed. Acknowledging her
talent and pursuit of excellence in Kathak, Prerana was awarded National scholarship
by the Government of India for learning under Smt. Rohini Bhate. She has also been
awarded the title of 'Singar-Mani' by Sur-Singar-Sansad, a prominent organization in
Mumbai. Prerana has performed solo in all major cities in India. She has been invited
in major festivals in India like
- Sharatchandrika organized by Kathak Kendra, New Delhi
- Uttaradhikar' organized by Bharat-Bhavan, Bhopal
- 'Kal Ke Kalakar' organized by Sur Singar Sansad, MumbaiPune festival

- 'Pallavotsav' organized by Vasundhara Arts, Mysore Shivanand Pratishthan,
Mumbai - Aundh Sangeet Sammelan, Aundh-Satara
- Sharda Sangeet Vidyalaya, Mumbai

Apart from solo performances, Prerana has prominently participated in several
choreographies of Nrityabharati Kathak Academy, Pune ranging from mythological to
abstract themes. She has performed in choreographies in major cities in India namely
Calcutta, Mumbai, New Delhi, Jaipur, Lucknow etc. organized by prestigious
organizations.
Prerana is an empanelled artist of Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and
under the aegis of ICCR, she has performed in several countries in Europe namely,
Spain, Portugal, Slovenia, Germany, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria etc.
Prerana has taught at Sharda Sangeet Vidyalaya, Mumbai for over two years and now
having based herself in Pune, Prerana teaches the nuances of Kathak to young
students in her institute 'Nrityadham' dedicated to Kathak, in Pune. Prerana also
teaches Kathak at the prestigious Pune University.
